“The moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on;

Nor all your piety or wit, shall lure it back to cancel half a line,

Nor all your tears wash out a word of it.”

from the Rubiyat of Omar Khayyam

Karma may best be defined as the law of cause and effect as it applies to “higher vibratory worlds”  or planes of spiritual and psychic existence.

Stated simply, every cause creates an effect.  Every action, and every thought, are causes (both seen and unseen) which create Karma, the spiritual equivalent of the effect.  No deed or thought, no action or emotion, is too inconsequential to escape being taken into full consideration within your Karmic record.

As the “moving finger” quote above points out, you cannot change the past or escape your karma, any more than you can change the law of cause and effect.  However, you can still always alter your ultimate fate by consciously choosing all of your current and future thoughts and actions.

“As a man soweth (seed), so shall he reap (fruits).”

- Jesus Christ (speaking on the law of cause and effect, or Karma)
